A Very Decent Proposal: ENGAGE!

October 11th, 2011

As Wedding Belle takes on a new digital face, the site will be introducing a whole new series of articles, features, and editorials. One of which will be A Very Decent Proposal. This column will tackle the variety of ways guys propose—from the simple getting-down-on-one-knee to an elaborate production of getting an airplane to write the message in the sky for example. Each guy has his own style. We will speculate on how special they make the proposal in terms of creativity, epic-ness, and romance.

I understand that there will be couples who wouldn’t necessarily be concerned with how the guys pops the question, but there might be some that stand out among the rest. Not to mention, how these proposals can be entertaining, heartwarming, and even funny!

Let me kick off this column with this video of Zach Munn at the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con 2011. The sound in this video may be a bit fuzzy, but wait till the end for something really cool.

How awesome is this? If this guy really went out of his way to get Patrick Stewart to declare the couple “engaged” (as seen in the TV series Star Trek), I don’t know of any girl who wouldn’t say “yes”. In any case, the guy was sweet and sincere in his proposal and deserves props. It seems like these two love birds are complete science fiction fans too! Zach proposing during an event that they truly enjoy was pure genius! He also made it really epic because really, how much more epic could it be to have Patrick Stewart formally announce that a couple is “engaged.” I’m pretty sure that all the men present at Comicon wished they thought of it first.

All in all, there was just enough creativity and romance in the moment. Plus, with this couple being very big fans of science fiction, they had more than enough epic-ness to make their day. Congrats to Zach and his fiancée on their engagement. All the best from the editorial staff at Wedding Belle.

And for old times’ sake, here’s Patrick Stewart himself as Captain Jean-Luc Picard one more time:
