A Very Decent Proposal: Making the Movies Jealous
October 26th, 2011

the happy couple
The movies are a great way for couples to have dates. From the trailers to the end of the credits, the cinema is a romantic and timeless venue for first dates or married couples. And just when Ginny thought that she was simply going to the movies with her brother, something out of the ordinary happens. Watch the video to watch the magic on the silver screen.
A “trailer” pops up on the big screen of Matt asking her dad for his blessing to marry Ginny. What’s really fun is that she was even second guessing if it was really him on the screen. Just when her dad gives the blessing, Matt rushes to the same theater where she is sitting and proposes! Another great surprise is that friends and family are in the same audience for the proposal.
Whether or not it is the ‘greatest marriage proposal ever’ as it is dubbed, it still beats a lot of them out there for many reasons. The first would be because it is a creative way to introduce the proposal. Girl thinks she’s going in to watch a movie but ends up watching the proposal as it unfolds! A very traditional and proper touch (as some would view it) that Matt incorporated in was when he asked for the blessing. Ginny must have had the surprise of her life when she saw the video of her boyfriend and dad. The audience must have been on the edge of their seats when Matt rushed to the cinema in his car. A trick that might have been done before by some rock band but it was cute nonetheless.
Another reason why this proposal was so awesome was because Matt did his best to make it epic and funny at the same time. The scene of him running in slow-mo with the popcorn in hand was a great way to keep the excitement going in an easy (and no tears) way for a change.
Lastly, Matt took the time to get friends and family to be there for the couple too. It was truly a special moment that they could all celebrate that day. No doubt there was a crazy, fun party that followed!
The proposal was so monumental that it was even shown on the Today show, Yahoo, AOL, news channels, and now on Wedding Belle!
Congratulations to Matt and Ginny on their engagement and just like the movies, we hope they live happily ever after!
